Gary Monahan serves as Downtown & Riverfront Parks Lead for the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund, where his role is loaned to the City`s Parks and Recreation Department. Gary oversees the strategy and implementation of activation plans for the Downtown Riverfront and other Jacksonville parks, including Riverfront Plaza and Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Park. He serves as a liaison between City agencies, for-profit and non-profit partners, and community groups, and helps to ensure that public capital improvements and private development work together. Before joining the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, Gary worked at the University of North Florida as Development Officer for the UNF Foundation. Gary is passionate about serving Jacksonville with his personal time; he serves as a board member of the Blue Zones Project Jacksonville Built Environment Commitee, Young Professionals Delegation, the Youth Crisis Center and others. Gary graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Leadership. When he is not at work, you can find Gary cheering on Jacksonville`s sports teams, spending time Downtown and playing sports.
